Autumn Colors

In Portraiture

Autumn/Fall has always been my favorite season after spring. Personally, I feel summer is only useful for its heat (or ‘alleged heat’ as the case may be depending on where you’re located) while winter is only useful for its snow. As temperatures begin to fall, you start to feel that first crisp breeze, and you realize that summer is gone and fall is in the air.

Every season has its upside; however, autumn has a particular beauty to it. I like to think of autumn as a second spring when every leaf is a flower. It is the only time when everything bursts with its last beauty as if nature had been saving up all year for a grand finale. Lovers of the season revel in its unique ability to turn the world into one big canvas with nature’s paintbrush. Autumn carries more gold in its pocket than all the other seasons.

As I write this, I am constantly reminded by the shivers running down my spine that “Winter is coming” – soon there will be no shade, no shine, no butterflies, no bees, no fruits, no flowers, no leaves and so on. Little wonder why it’s called NO-vember. Anyways I had the pleasure of documenting THU – a Vietnamese. This was her first photography session ever if you exclude selfies & I think she did good, but I’ll let you be the judge on that.
